Introduction
My "hide-away" is in Sipoo, close to the lake "Savijarvi" in the middle of
the Finnish forests just 38 km from the Helsinki City Centre.
Usually I work there during the summer time. Inspiration for both,
sculptures and paintings are getting shape during these long energy intense
days with the mid-night sun.

Spirit Of Koli
In the summer of 2001 I had the opportunity to work at the Artists Residence
in Koli, which is a small village nearby the national park in the Finnish
Northern Karelia. The landscape is famous for it’s roughness and it has inspired
many Finland’s great artists before.

In my water colour paintings I have tried to capture the feeling when the landscape
opens wide in front of you from high above. It was a challenge to try to capture the
movement and rapid changes in light, shadows and colours flashing before me.
